How do payouts work through a platform?

TL;DR

On Influentials, you don't have to chase brands for payment. The brand reserves the campaign budget on the platform in advance. You complete your payout details and deliver your content on time. Once the brand has approved it, you receive your payout through the platform 10 days after the campaign's end date. If you deliver late, your payout may come later. For product-only campaigns, there's no money payout: the product is your compensation.

One of the biggest advantages of working through a platform is that you don't have to arrange payment yourself. No chasing brands, no awkward reminders and no waiting to see whether the money will actually arrive. Here's how it works on Influentials.

How the payout works

  1. The brand reserves the budget. Before a campaign starts, the brand adds its budget to its wallet on Influentials. This means the money for your compensation is already on the platform.
  2. You complete your payout details. Make sure your payout details in your profile are complete and correct. Without them, we can't pay you.
  3. You deliver your content. Deliver your content as described in the brief, before the deadline.
  4. The brand approves. The brand checks your content. If adjustments are needed, you'll receive feedback first.
  5. You receive your payout. Your payout is made through the platform 10 days after the campaign's end date. If you delivered your content late, your payout may come later.

Why this is convenient

  • Clarity. You know in advance when you'll be paid: 10 days after the campaign ends.
  • Security. The budget is reserved in advance, so you know the money is there.
  • Less admin. You don't have to send invoices to each brand separately or chase payments.
  • One overview. You can see all your campaigns and payouts in one place.

Product campaigns

In some campaigns, the compensation is a product rather than money. In that case, there's no money payout: the product you receive is your compensation. You can always see in the brief what you'll receive before you apply.

How do you avoid delays?

  • Complete your payout details right away. Do this as soon as you create your account, so nothing holds up your payout later.
  • Deliver on time and according to the brief. Late delivery can delay your payout. And the better your content matches the brief, the fewer revisions are needed and the sooner it's approved.
  • Handle feedback quickly. If the brand asks for adjustments, make them promptly so your content is approved before the campaign ends.

Haven't received your payout?

First check whether 10 days have passed since the campaign's end date, and whether you delivered your content on time. If you delivered late, your payout may come a little later. Then check that your payout details are complete and correct, and that the brand has approved your content. Is everything in order and you still haven't received anything? Do you need to charge VAT as a creator?

Often, yes. In the Netherlands, anyone who regularly and independently provides services in exchange for payment is usually an entrepreneur for VAT purposes, and that includes creators. Payment in the form of products counts too. If your annual turnover stays below the limit of the small business scheme (KOR), you can register to be exempt from charging VAT. Every situation is different, so check with the Dutch Tax Administration or an accountant.

How do you avoid late payments?

On Influentials, you receive your payout 10 days after the campaign's end date, provided you delivered your content on time and the brand has approved it. Most delays are caused by late delivery, incomplete payout details or content that isn't approved in time. Complete your payout details as soon as you sign up, deliver your content on time and according to the brief, and handle feedback quickly. That way your payment arrives without any issues.

How do you set your rate as a creator?

Your rate depends on more than just the video itself. It's determined by the time you spend, the number and type of deliverables, how and for how long the brand may use your content, any exclusivity, and your experience. Start from your desired hourly rate, estimate how many hours a campaign takes, and add extra for usage rights and exclusivity. On Influentials, the brand states the compensation in the brief, so you can decide for yourself whether a campaign is worth it for you.

How much do you earn with influencer posts?

There's no fixed amount. What you earn per post depends on your reach, how engaged your followers are, how well your audience matches the brand, the type of content, the platform, usage rights and exclusivity. Brands pay with a fee, a product, a commission, or a combination of these. On Influentials, you can see the compensation in the brief before you apply.
